Igielnik / Pincushion

       Hafciarstwo uzależnia. Po skończeniu bawetu moje ręce czuły silną potrzebę dalszego machania igłą. W zasadzie nie umiem już obejrzeć filmu czy serialu bez jakiejś robótki w rękach :) Żeby więc wykorzystać zapał póki jest wyhaftowałam mały igielnik. Motywy kwiatowe troszkę mi się ostatnio przejadły, więc inspirując się hafciarskimi osiągnięciami Aleksandry z bloga Atelier Polonaise spróbowałam czegoś zupełnie nowego - haftu bargello (którego w sieci można też znaleźć pod nazwami florentine, irish i flame). Z tym graficznym i niezwykle kolorowym haftem spotkałam się już jakiś czas temu przeszukując sieć w poszukiwaniu epokowych toreb i portfeli.

      Embroidery is addictive. After finishing stomacher my hands felt a strong need to continue little needle dance. In fact, now I can't watch a movie or a series without some needlework in the hands :) So to take advantage of my enthusiasm I made a small embroidered pincushion. I also needed little brake from  floral themes, so I get inspired by the achievements of the Aleksandra's blog, Atelier Polonaise, and tried something new - bargello stitch (you can also seek it under the names florentine, irish and flame stitch). With this graphic and extremely colourful embroidery I met some time ago while searching the network for 18th century bags and wallets.

        Na pierwszy rzut oka nieszczególnie przypadł mi do gustu, zdawał się zbyt "awangardowy" jak na tamte czasy i estetykę. Teraz wiem, że na tym próbnym igielniku się nie skończy, tym bardziej, że haft jest naprawdę bardzo prosty a powtarzalny wzór szybko wchodzi w głowę.

      At first glance, I didn'i like it, it seemed to be too "avant-garde" for those days and aesthetics. Now I know that this pincushion is not my last date with bargello stitch, furthermore, thit embroidery is really very simple and repetitive pattern quickly comes into your head.

Na igielnik składa się:
- kanwa (prezent od Aleksandry :))
- kawałek kremowej bawełny
- mulina Ariadna w 6 kolorach (użyłam całej nici)
- taśma bawełniana 
- wypełnienie zrobiłam z resztek muliny i pociętych materiałów :)

Pincushion is made of:
- canvas (gift from Aleksandra :))
- piece of cream cotton
- floss Ariadna, 6 colours (I used all threads)
- cotton ribbon
- for filling I used rest of floss and cutted fabrics
